ABC Auto Gear Racing celebrated a one-three finish in Brisbane on Saturday night December 12 with Todd Wanless racing to the win in Round 5 of the Qld Speedway Spares Series and team mate Pete Thorley joining him on the podium with a third place finish in the twenty-five lap Feature event.

It was a much needed win for Wanless, the points haul from his first Feature race victory of the season moving him from ninth to fifth in the standings while Thorley's result in the #51 Tyrepower/Action Metal Recyclers Sprintcar will move him back into the Series lead for the first time since Round 2 in October.

"I love racing this car!" Wanless proclaimed after climbing out of the #2 Aljon/Action Metal Recyclers/Self Serve Auto Parts J&J at the completion of the Feature race. "It seems like every time we step back into it we do well and tonight is no different."

"Kerry Madsen drove this car here a month or so back and won in it and now we have done the same, the car was really good all night and I could run it pretty much anywhere I needed to out there especially when we were running in heavy traffic for a while."

"Buzzy, Steve and the boys did a great job to get both our cars on the podium tonight, they've been working hard the past few weeks fitting out our new transporter and getting everything ready for the big races coming up over Christmas so this is a great reward for them." Wanless added.

With no races scheduled in Brisbane next weekend, the next event for ABC Auto Gear Racing will be the first of the International Sprintcar races at Archerfield on December 26 with the team also being joined in the shop and at the track by Californian Brent Kaeding during his annual trip to Australia.
